"Sucky Place" to be, but good shooting. I wish we were not there.:bear_angry:

Re: The Best Shot in Irag
That might be the best shot, but my favorite story is of the US Marine sniper team in Fallujah that would purposely gut shot a Hadji to attract his fellow Hadji's to assist their screaming wounded mate. The sniper would then engage the multiple targets in the open, one shot one kill. The story being told by the sniper himself was quite humorous.

M24 rifle
I wish it was a mag load rather than bolt action. 7.62 is a devastating round. |

ha! I didn't even notice the typo. I check my thread titles to make sure I don't put a typo in there... hmmm  it wasn't a jab or anything.....just an honest mistake. Anyway like the guy says: lucky shot. Does anyone have an opinion on the firearm this guy was using? |
Re: The Best Shot in Irag
This may be the best American shot, but there was a Canadian team in '06 I think that made a 2400 yard shot(and kill). Thats about 1.4 miles or something like that.

Re: The Best Shot in Irag
That was in Afghanistan, and they used a long range heavy rifle, I forget if it was a 338 Lapua or a 50. Either way, it's apples and oranges to making a shot with a 7.62MM. Not to take anything away from the Canucks, their feat was IMPRESSIVE to say the least.
The M24/M40 is one fine piece of hardware. It's a Remington 700 action that's completely rebuilt by Army/USMC armorers. That said, the most important part of any shot is the nut behind the stock. |

Re: The Best Shot in Irag
That's fine gun....If any 308 could take the shot, that one could. Those barrels are scary good.
